Kay G was not re-elected November 2024 but she was trying hard to hang on in office until she reached her 30 year anniversary Jan 2025. I understand her wish, but ethically, she should have stepped down and allowed a temporary replacement for her last 6 months.

The entire gerontocracy is being protected. Until that debate made a lot of people have to face up to reality. Now we have to look at both TERM LIMITS and AGE LIMITS. 75 max age, 12 year term limits in general -- applies to all federal posts, elected and appointed, supreme court, senate, the works. Get it voted in. The problem is not a shortage of ideas/proposals (mine is obvious, maybe not the best) nor is it a shortage of common sense. The problem is political will.
American government is calcified: antiquated and out of touch. A senate where North Dakota has the same power as Texas? A House of Representatives where the states get to decide the districts, not the federal government or a non-partisan department? A President who can pardon on command, just like Louis the XIVth? Appoint a cabinet in the manner of George the III. Command all foreign policy? You have a fixed term monarch here, that's what he is. You deserve the trouble you're having. No effort to modernize, let alone improve. Greatest nation in the world, worst government ever.
