DIY - Peel and Stick Vinyl Wood Planks for Walls

My personal vinyl wood look plank installation on your walls for 150 bucks. These interior peel and stick vinyl wood planks have a rustic feel but yet feels modern. Vinyl is tough and has the same apperance as wood planks for walls. Before installing shiplap siding on interior walls take a look at this video.

I just color match the planks to paneling nails & did a accent wall in my bathroom. I think the paneling nail heads makes it look more real IMO. Plus I did accent walls in my living room & used paneling nails there too. I did not want to add any more adhesive that would really destroy the wall when it comes time to take them down when doing another makeover. The adhesive that's on the back of the planks just don't cut it, so I went with paneling nails. Way easier to mud over nail holes, sand than to try & get stuck on left over adhesive from walls.

Do Not use extra glue unless you plan to NEVER remove them. Instead use small nails . Press the plank on as best as you can and use small unnoticeable nails. Makes it so much easier to remove or fix otherwise you may have to replace drywall if you ever have to take it down. If you pay a little extra some brands have good glue but a stud finder and small nails help if the backing doesn’t stick. Trust me

helo Alglobal...is just started my diy wall with vinyl...the polymer glue im using stick the vinyl on tje wall perfectly....now im curious how long it will last...i also use dunlop glue just to compare..both doing fine for now...how your wall now?

Planning on doing this to our bedroom wall this weekend. We purchased "Luxury Vinyl Tile Adhesive" as we weren't sure if we would need the extra stick aside from the sticky vinyl (after seeing this and reading the comments I'm glad we did!). Now my question is, if we ever want to remove this, would it be possible? Would it just be a really tough job?

that way, when you goto sell your house in the future, people will look at your walls the same way we look at 1960s wood paneling now. Great idea!

I put on closet doors and they fell off. Then tried using Gorilla spray adhesive both on closet door and on peel and stick vinyl strips with about a minute per instructions. They are falling off again within 2 days

If you're going to use this material as a trim piece even if you use adhesive you will need to tack them into place with small nails or they will slide right off the wall lol
