Who's Next? Predicting Ultimate's DLC Fighter #8

As this year finally begins to wrap up, attention among gaming communities has turned toward different topics than usual. Holiday shoppers are seeking out which video games their loved ones would be most excited for. Websites and organizations are giving out awards for the games they believe have excelled most. And Smash Bros. roster speculators are...doing the usual, attempting to figure out which of Nintendo's--or gaming's--best, brightest, or most unique will be the 8th DLC character to join the fight. Who's next?

While nothing's for certain--both the identity of Fighter #8 and when they'll be revealed--we can at least analyze the situation and figure out where things currently stand. Let's take a closer look at three characters in particular that I think are worth keeping a close eye on, then go into further detail on why they could be chosen and what standout abilities and new content they could bring to Smash.

IIRC the last few times you uploaded the next DLC fighter wasn't too far away, so I'll keep my eyes open for who it is.

I have a feeling that a WarioWare character was likely selected because of voice acting.

Nintendo/Sakurai reminded us fans about how Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus characters spoke by having them talk in various trailers in Smash 4.

Now that WarioWare characters can talk, I expect one of them to be playable while the others talk in his/her trailer. Think about it.

I’m kinda hoping Fighter #8 is someone that would really get me excite me, because Steve was a huge miss for me personally. Any of the trio in this video would be great for me, though I’ve also been interested in some of Arc System Works’ characters, so I wonder if we could see Sol Badguy or Ragna the Bloodedge make an appearance.

I would love to see Sora in smash. Plus Sora is a Disney rep not a Square Enix rep. Square Enix creates the Kingdom Hearts games but Disney fully owns the characters. Also Disney and Nintendo had a long relationship a long time ago starting with the hanafuda card. Also, Square Enix has lended some artworks for Trials of Mana 2020 and Octopath Traveler into smash ultimate, so I don't think that Square Enix is "THAT" stingy as well as multiple Square Enix games on the switch.

There is only one pattern that we hadn't seen broken and is that all DLCs have been protagonists or returning characters, so it could be nice to see someone breaking that pattern despite how unlikely it is.
