The handle seems to be 40mm, not 35 as i said in the video. It really looked like 35mm to me.. so I assumed it was, but website says 40. I guess daiwa is still not ready for a 35mm handle : )

Before moving forward in the video, I think it looks really nice.

I usually wait for your review, but I couldn’t resist ordering this one last week. Now hopefully the review doesn’t kill the reel 😂 Best regards from the Netherlands. Love your videos!

I think it looks excellent. I agree, I think Daiwa makes the best looking reels. The new Certate, SOL, and Exist looking amazing.

Light metals from the shore, hence the mag sealed. Some rods especially with short handles feel nicer with heavier reels. One of my favourite reels is the Ultegra for me either buy a Ultegra or if you can afford get the Vanquish, forget the rest. Great video 👍

The depressing resistance is always there, it knows when you are sleeping, it knows when you're awake, it knows if you've been bad or good

The Daiwa handles are more ergonomic than the Shimano handles. I like the bigger curve in the Daiwa handles. I bought the 24 Twinpower 2500FE and the handle is to close to the reel compared with my Daiwa Certate 2500. Thanks for sharing Victor! Richie.

Well, this is why i also opted to put another 100 bucks on top and eventually took the Airity SF, with only 135g also for 2500 ss size, with the golden accents, a way better choice. I am so positively pleased with the Super Finesse lineup from Airity, that i changed 3 of my old reels, and i will buy this year some more. Daiwa nailed it this time. By the way, i open every Traktor greased Daiwa from the box, and put very light oil in the side bearings, and cleaned the grease from them. I found it to be the cause of the nasty resistance .The SF don’t have this problem, but on one reel in particularly one side bearing was completely dry. You are right, i better buy Legalis and little tuning, or directly Airity, the Luvias doesn’t justify so much money in my opinion also. If it were 130$ i would consider, but it is expensive for what it offers.I think if for bass anglers because Luvias Airity exists no more, and Luvias and Airity are tho different reels now, for different applications, and the Super Finesse is actually for us UL anglers. All the best Vikor, and a happy new year 🎉

i do light only salt bay but i still do use ultra light rods and trout rods at the saltwater... you'll want to use a light rod not a ultra light you can but there's a small window to use it as tide current and wind and ultra light will struggle as light power will be more a ultra light in salt light game fish between 1 to 5 pounds.. i caught a 15 inch bonefish today with my 1000 stella fk usa gear ratio with YUMEYA N4010 spool and black knob and that thing ripped like 100ft of line in seconds .. i use a minimum of 2 grams lures up to 5 to 7 grams.. depending what im going for i use 0.2 to 0.3 braid x8 or 2 pound mono/flouro with 4/6 leader. i fish on my kayak and i used some cheap reels with no water protection and never had issues, i just keep them oiled up and clean after use, super low resistance is not necessary but still good to have since saltwater fish hit hard when they strike ..the green fish they catch is called AJING they are horse mackerel and they are a ton of fun on 1 pound ester line we have that here also at san diego ca when they come in season... only if you was here at my place you'll have so much fun fishing as we have lots of lakes and the ocean bay so many fish. i laugh at people with super over power rods and reels because they missing out on the light game setup, we fish to have fun and not just wrench in the fish like a brick

It looks fine, but the Daiwa Regal's feel really good( they spin just from the handle settling with no pressure applied), for way cheaper( as far as fresh water only goes). All the MQ reels or mag sealed reels have more resistance compared to the 9+ regular bearing reels. There is almost zero reason for mag seal on a freshwater reel unless you drop your reel into the water a lot, or wade fish maybe. I have some of the more fancy Daiwa reels too, but only for the really shallow spools( if the regal line had shallow spool options it would be the best bang for buck freshwater reel hands down), or the really good drag systems on the Exist or Certate( but they have more spin resistance having the mag seal). The Luvias line is avalible to order here in the USA via import, but it's not normally sold in the USA at all. Main USA lines in the over 200$ category would be the Tarantula, Certate, and Exist. We can import a bunch of reels from Japan via Amazon like the Caldia LT trout reels, and others. The big sellers here are the Revros and Regal lines for the more affordable reels.

The resistance is not from the mganetic oil. Its from all the overgreased bearings with thicker grease than what they used to use before, because this one holds for longer. If it bothers you so much, remove all bearings, open them up, clean inside with an ultra sonic cleaner, oil and close them down. The reel will feel as free as free can be.

Another important informative video, looking forward for the indepth review, totally agree, magseal is only good for UL saltwater, and from I've seen with usage it seems to decrease its performance and protection abilities, there are a few videos out there of people taking magsealed reels apart and at the end they are all the same, do not mess with that oil, it does work but for me to trust a liquid to protect my investment against another liquid is a no no.

Great video Victor. I have the 24 luvias 2500-DH (double handle) and does still feel like the previous model. No point for the airdrive system too because of the heavy duty grease inside the reel. I bought it the first day it came out for the double handle. All the Shimano reels with MGL rotors spins more freely than this 2 luvias. But I do like the MQ bodies and their lightness. Now imagine Shimano comes up with a light MQ body with worm gears, now that will remove daiwa out of the pictures in terms of spinning reels. Well again, Happy New Year!

You're right. I think too they put truck grease in it. But its design, material quality, rigidity is amazing. Drag performance is perfect for ultralight tackles and better than shimano soare xr . When the fish is on, it is smooth and solid and its resistance not a problem. I use Belleza UX 0.6 - 7gr with 0.3pe braid and Zman plastics in salt water to catching bream and seabass . Really enjoyable tackle for me on bellyboatfishing. I believe Daiwa will fix resistance problem at next generation reels.

OK, I like the looks with the metal flake, it does match up with the pole, but the one thing you forgot that I was waiting for is the drag clicker sound!!!

Looks nice and compact. Very nice looking combo. For sure I was waiting for you to spin the spool to listen to the drag. Honestly I don’t see why Daiwa uses magseal throughout there upper end low weight reels. Think they’re missing part of the market! Thanks for the video! Victor

Well, you should have waited a little bit, because it has appeared the SF option. The 25 Ultegra looks also pretty. All the best 🎉
