My grandma was born in 1940 and her earliest memory was playing with her siblings in the garden and saw a V-2 bomb go over her house towards the nearest city to us, Sheffield

6:09 Never underestimate the German ability to make something sound sinister, nor the English ability to make it sound adorable.

Interesting how much technology changed in the war. At the beginning, air craft was mostly novel but by end of the war, tanks, jet planes, and missiles were becoming a main stay.

I always looked at this giant medal in a frame of medals at my Grandmother's house, the medal they awared to my Grandfather for the Battle of the Bulge was *massive* and was meant to hang around your neck. Now I know why that medal was so big.

As horrible as most of this is, I still love seeing the joy on the faces of liberated people

I'd like to go through all of these documentaries and replace "British" with "British Commonwealth". I always feel that countries like Canada and Australia are being degraded.

It surprised me that Monty was not demoted after the disaster of Market Garden. And this ill fated move cost the lives of 17, 000 allied troops just so Monty good try to ingratiate himself with Eisenhower. It cost more casualties than the slaughter on D day!

The ending was brutal. We truly live in a peaceful world compared to 19th and 20th century.

If the clap was considered a war wound, half the army would have had purple hearts after Paris.

This documentary series shows once again that war always takes out on innocent civillians and that there is no such thing as a wiinable war. Why do we refuse to learn from history?

Seems like Stalin clearly had 2 goals during WW2: defeat the Nazis and expand the Soviet Empire.
