"Hey everyone. Knife tip of the day."
Points to the tip of the knife he's holding.
"There it is. Right there. Have a nice day, everyone."

I am waiting for the first of March when I get paid to place an order for the Espada XL 7.5" blade with the black G-10 handle scales. That version is affordable for me. If I can swing it I'd love to add the Kershaw Lucha black wash butterfly knife to my order. I've done that once before and was very cool when I received my shipping box containing a new in factory box Infidel blue handle limited version otf and another Benchmade SOCP axis lock. Both together cost me $120 + $96 Totaling $216 dollars. I spent several hours researching every site I could find to locate the lowest price available. Would never purchase any product at retail cost. My last knife I bought was a large Cold Steel drop forged bowie which cost me $72 & free shipping. It is the only way I can purchase items as I am retired now. Years ago when I worked a decent job and had more funds available my personal best has to be the weekend I was going pheasant hunting in western Kansas and stopped at a gun show in Topeka where I bought two Colt 357 mag Pythons made in the mid 60s both 100% new in the original factory boxes with 8" barrels and the royal blue finish. They had the custom shop Ellison sights and were unfired. The original boxes were slightly tattered but the revolvers were beautiful 100% new old stock Pythons. As I sat in the motel that evening waiting to hunt pheasants the next morning I was enjoying a best day ever moment holding a nib Colt .357 magnum 8 inch handgun in each hand. I spent big bucks at that time which was $500 each for a $1000 purchase that day. Sitting on the motel bed that night with those two Colts in each hand It occured to me I would never regret that purchase. A once in a lifetime moment for me.

One of my favorite knife moments was getting to show off pocket deploying an XL Espada in a crowded knife store. Everyone else was scared to damage the knife or stab themselves. It would have stabbed my leg if I didn't have my phone in my pocket, it gave my phone a good smack with the tip.

Right afterwards I stabbed my palm trying to open a front-flipper for the first time. It felt like Final Destination but for a minor injury.

The wave feature is great, however they aren't all the same. The Cold Steel version (I have most of the models) will chew up your pocket if you carry and practice. I have multiple pants with frayed pockets as a result. Don't own any Emerson knives, but I have multiple Spyderco wave models and they work without damaging clothing. Like both, but if you're clothing conscious worth noting.

I wish the 4 inch Espadas we're still being manufactured.

I don't think I ever want to go anywhere where I need a knife that quickly

I showed my Dad this on my Cold Steel Spartan. He said it's not supposed to do that. I said "Guy, it's the Emerson wave, it's specifically designed for this." Again, this man said "It's not supposed to do that, also I know what the Emerson Wave is."

DCA, can you provide a video on the different 'wave opening' manufactures/models for comparisons and features? Piqued my interest with the 'How to Use" video. Thanks!

I switched my pocket clip on my m16-14sfg and it's a good pocket deployment

No knife smaller than the Espada would have worked for this demonstration.

AFAIK this came about by accident where a bottle opener was put on the spine on a cheap knife kershaw iirc but then others took the patent and claim of intention

I had a small knife deploy in my pocket and it stuck me in the butt cheek and got caught or stuck in my pocket. It took 2 people to get it out of my butt cheek and pocket. Lol

That sounds like an accident waiting to happen

Or, and hear me out… you could grab the knife correctly and open it as it’s coming out of the pocket, instead of doing this and then adjusting your grip..
