Just learned the guitar solo at the end. Took me 2 damned weeks. Now I’ve got blisters on my index & middle fingers. WORTH IT!!!!

Finally a Wet Sand video with the comments turned on. I love reading and sharing our experiences with music. where were you when you first heard this? How did it feel? How did it smell and taste? What was on your mind? How did this song help you make it through what you were going through? These are important questions to me and I love reading other people's experiences with songs that I also associate strong experiences with. 2006 I hear this song while in Tampa, FL. We were there to bury my Grandfather (RIP) and my cousin and his girlfriend (now wife) stopped to take a secret toke. I had bought the Stadium Arcadium album and had it playing. Wet Sand was on when I realized what we had stopped for. I opened the door and convinced them to let me get stoned with them. We got stoned on the beach and it was beautiful. I won't forget it. We talked about how we missed Grandpa and the fun times that we shared. It was a beautiful family moment and for some reason this song has stuck with that feeling since it happened. It makes me think of Grandpa (love you pa) and my cousin C and his (now wife) A. Miss yall. Beautiful memories that I cherish forever. Makes me miss our Pa. A great family man, countryman and patriot. Godspeed, Pa.

I discovered this song nearly 15 years ago and I thought it was the best guitar solo that I've ever heard.
I've listened to many songs with incredible guitar solos since and Wet Sand is still my favorite guitar solo. I just can't describe how it makes me feel. Like drugs.

To me this song is about becoming self actualized. All of your past coming together, all of your parts, the light and dark, blending into the force that makes you whole and complete. And once you arrive at this point, after all the struggle and joy swirled together, your true form is revealed. John’s solo at the end Is just so emotional and beautiful… my favorite chili song and I’ve been a fan and seen them on tour since 89/90.

John and Anthony's song about coming out of addiction, something that can't form in wet sand, i.e. waves of life that are kind and also unforgiving.

Loving yourself, forgiving yourself, you can form in the wet sand no matter what waves come at you. Give that love to yourself then give it away now. Mothers, fathers, daughters and the two sons in this song all have love to give and receive. That's why John screams He accepts life as it is for him
