How the zapper works: It has a censor inside of the barrel to detect light especially white light. And when you shoot the targets become white sprites and everything else black. So when you put it in a lamp it detects the lamp as a white light aka target and says you hit the target*

This will only work with certain lights. It will not work with incandescent lights meaning the old original lights with a filament in there. It probably will not work with fluorescent lights either. It will likely only work with LED lights because many cheap LED lights will flicker. If the flicker happens in such a way that the gun detects it being dark and then it being light on the next frame then they will register a hit

Zapper has one black frame before the light blocks when you fire as a failsafe to prevent cheating like this idk how this lamp is working but it is certainly some sort of weird fluke

Some versions of duck hunt will actually flash a black screen first and if it detects light then it won’t count it as a hit to prevent this method of cheating. So it working or not depends on what cartridge you have.

Works better on a constantly on light bulb, not in LED

You can also play it on a B&W TV and just mess with the contrast. Hot every time.

It doesn’t work with the grey model. The nes zapper for 1 frames makes the whole screen go black to make sure you’re looking at the screen then turns the sprites bright white to check if you are looking at your target. Try the grey one and it shouldn’t work.

Uhh, clean your cartrige pins sometimes. Those duck and dog sprites are quite corrupted.
