Snow Chick: A Penguin's Tale
This enchanting film follows the adventures of one charismatic emperor penguin from the time he emerges from the egg to the moment he leaves for the sea. Emperor penguins grow up during the winter in one of the coldest places on Earth - the Antarctic. The conditions are harsh and chicks must endure temperatures of minus 60 degrees Celsius and terrifying blizzards. This film follows the trials and tribulations of one adorable fluffy chick - from his first tentative steps on the ice, to getting lost, to hanging out with the other chicks. It also shows the lengths his parents will go to provide food, overcoming huge obstacles, avoiding predators like leopard seals, and enduring freezing conditions. Full of tense and moving moments as well as comedy and character, Snow Chick follows the emperor penguin's life story in a level of detail never attempted before.

I only met this baby penguin 12 minutes ago in the first clip, but I hope he's doing well. He's so cute!!

Love the intelligence of these birds. To have a strict childminder really displays their thought processes.

I'm so invested in these clips. The narrator is amazing. Actually, no. The whole team who worked in this are amazing videographer, director, researcher, etc.

i love how the childminder is trying to shield the baby penguin from the petrel, then pecks at the chick to remind him to stay close.

The thought of having a childminder in a group of birds is already astonishing. Also the childminder is very protective of the baby chick too. Like how did they come to think this way???

Isn't this the same baby penguin that got bullied by older chicks, nearly smothered to death by a bunch of penguins and now survived a petril snatching just because he is the smallest? Man this kid is pretty courageous he Is gonna grow up big and brave :) 💕

I never laughed so hard ever when the penquin just stepped on the chick and slipped and acted like nothing happen LOL. I take a whole 2hr film of just this. I love this.

As I watched the last three amazing penguin clips, I was just thinking their only enemy may be the blizzard and extreme temperature but they do have a predator too. Yet they have an awesome system and ways to protect themselves and their offsprings! Who knew both parents could go hunting while their dedicated babysitter is a protector?! Almost like humans but these are birds! Incredible. Such intelligent animals!

This is like parents leaving their young ones at school for the very first time and the way the parent penguins are standing next to one and another looks like they’re conversing about their day 😅😅😊 it’s interesting to see these species behaving just like humans would!
