ورأيت أيضاً سمعان الشيخ يحمله مكرماً
المجوس يركعون أمام مذود البهائم
و هرودوس يرتعد إذ قد حل ملكوت الإله
منذ كانت حواء عذراء استترت من عارها
أما مريم العذراء إذ حملت بالرب عظمت
لما سمعت الأم حواء كلام الأفعى سقطت
مستحيلةً جحراً للحية واورثتنا موت النفس
أما مريم فسمعت صوت ربها فخلصت
إذ تحولت قصراً ملاكياً وأعطتنا الصفح التام

Mary said: The son whom I bore bore me
