Welcome to the latest Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Dam update for July 2024. This video covers the most recent water level changes and trends at one of America's largest reservoirs.

We'll review current water statistics, including significant changes in elevation, and make predictions about future levels. Additionally, we'll examine the Bureau of Reclamation's unusual water releases from the Glen Canyon Dam aimed at cooling the Colorado River.

Find out if these measures are effectively lowering the river's temperature and preventing the spread of invasive species, impacting the local ecosystem. We'll also discuss the return of the Charles Hall Ferry service, which has resumed operations after being halted due to low water levels.

Stay tuned to see if the predictions hold true and what the future holds for Lake Powell. Hit that like button, share your thoughts in the comments, and subscribe for more in-depth water management updates. Let's get started!

We need water.
We need electricity.
Everything else is a luxury. God gave us brains to invent the reservoir. For people's needs. Fill it up & use it wisely!

They should not use the river outlets unless they have too.

It’s been stated that using them at low water levels can accelerate cavitation

Petroglyphs, dam repair, Chubb. Over the years you have come up with a lot of excuses to drain lake Powell and mead.

Screw the bass, screw hydropower. Keep the water for drinking and residential use only

Introducing none native fish into waters where they don't belong solely for recreational sport fishing has always been totally as stupid idea. Always had to be for some kind of egotistical pleasure disregarding natural habitat and wildlife. The dam shouldn't be there at all. Get rid of it so this nonesense of worry about water at glen canyon dam can go away with it. People! Move to places where there is more water to back east and or north. Stop the stupidity of wasting soaking up the desert.
