I remember seeing Chester for the first time live when he was fronting Stone Temple Pilots. I went into the show with doubt and skepticism: there was no way this "Nu-Metal" screamer was going to be able to pull off covering Scott Weiland's grunge vocals. Boy was I wrong...

By the end of the second song, Chester didn't have a dry stitch of clothes on his body. This man put every single ounce of his energy into singing. It was when he belted the chorus to Big Empty, I knew I had witnessed something special. "Time to take her home, her dizzy head is conscience laden"

Rest In Peace, Chester. You're gone but you'll never be forgotten. I'll keep the memory of watching you on that stage close to my heart for the rest of my days.

I’m a damn grown ass man and Chester passing still makes me want to break down. It’s just so frustrating and sad. I grew up with LP and will listen to them till the day I die. Rest easy Chester.
