I took a class with Benny this summer and near the end of the lesson, someone asked "how do you tune that snare you're using? It sounds incredible!" Rather than giving tips on tuning, he took a key and messed with every single lug leaving a couple super loose and a couple super tight. No matter how he tuned it, it sounded sick!!!! I mean heck, I think he tuned only one lug super high and the others super loose and it STILL sounded flippin' incredible!!!!

I bought one of these just recently and it has changed the way I play music! The musical tone in every hit whether it's a rim shot or a basic hit makes this the greatest, easiest and most musical snare drum around! EXTREMELY easy to tune and makes drumming more fun! I know what you mean but as a SQ2 player, I can tell you that Sonor high series drums are of a quality from another planet... The sound, it;s character, the way they tune, everything. They are the Lamborghini of drums if one could say.
