Ever since 2016, I’ve been watching these videos to remind myself that no year is perfect. There are a lot of set backs and hard times. But there are a lot more great moments and inspiring stories that motivates us to keep going. I know we’re only two years into this decade and yeah I’m terrified of what’s to come in the next seven years. But all I hope for is more changes for the better and that there will be more people out there that are willing to make a difference

i love these “year in search” videos, especially this one. i’ve been wanting to change myself and change the way i view the world this entire year. this video reminds me of the leaps i took last year and all of the leaps i’ll take this next year. we’re all just trying to find our best selves, and none of us are alone in that way. i loved the last words, “to everyone who sees not what the world is but what it can be. search on”. this was really a beautiful video, thank you

It is 2023, and I still find healing in this video. 2022 was quite difficult for me, but this video gave me a lot of hope and fulfillment and helped me feel stronger, after all those difficulties end.

I love showing these to my students every year. We start with the first and continue until present day. As I teach 7th grade I've now just about hit where the "Zeitgeists" began when these kids were being born. It's crazy to show them what has happened over their lifetimes. Please bring back the name Zeitgeist. This is about so much more than searching in the searchbar. This is how our society finds meaning. It's more a true zeitgeist than most others.

I went back to school for a second college degree this year. I had no money, no job, no way to pay back loans, and no promise that what I was doing would pay off. Just the pursuit of a different life/career was the best decision ever. After 11 months of training and looking for work, I was able to start a new career. It’s been the most life affirming experience of my life. Whatever it is that you want to do in life, you can do it. It will take time and patience and dedication but it is possible
