#543 Arcade Game WELLS GARDNER 4900 Monitor Chassis High Voltage DISCHARGE TIPS-TNT Amusements

This is a new series of videos called TODD'S TIPS....that we are going to make as we need them. A customer is reinstalling his Wells Gardner 4900 monitor chassis we repaired...and we decided to make this video to assist him in re-installation and at the same time, post it here to help others to see how easy it is to take out and put back in! This also shows you how to DISCHARGE the high voltage in the tube! Remember, to do ALL of this with the machine UNPLUGGED!!

Excellent tutorial! u should add 'how to discharge a crt monitor' to the video title and description so it comes up in searches. ive been watching lots of monitor repair videos and found this one by accident. i have two old driving machines, Spyhunter and APB, and have been watching repair videos in prep for some restorations.

Great WG4900 video. One question, I'm trying to adjust the screen on a wg4900, but the horizontal (l/r) are too wide. I have tried using the white horizontal adjust knob, and putting it all the way left and all the way right. Is this common, and if so, how can I fix it? Are those "master overide" pins the answer?

I wish so much that I had watched this video a week ago! I have a WG4700 that was DOA, and I recapped it, and it's so close to working, but after being on for a minute it crackles out, the screen collapses into a line then dies completely. This happens every time you turn it on and seems to work longer the longer it's been off. Watching this video, I saw you mention the big resistors, so I just now went back to the chassis and saw if they were loose. Sure enough, one of them is so loose that you can pull it up and down. I'm going to remove and resolder it, but it's too late, I already bought a new replacement chassis. Now I need to find another 25" CRT tube to put this on! I do have a machine that needs a monitor...

Is it necessary to discharge a monitor before you remove it from whatever cabinet it's in? I plan to replace a monitor in an arcade game sometime soon or in the future.

Hi Todd, My MK2 monitor is dying, WG K7000.. any tips for me?.. Its got a nice picture but was flicking black on me just for a moment, slight wiggle around the edge.. and a horizontal issue.. if you move your guy to the right side of the screen he gets skinnier.. dragon logo on right side of the character select screen has looked like an egg since I bought the machine a few years ago. Now my friend says it's not coming on.. I havent gone to go have a look yet.. but I've been online here writing down notes from your videos trying to see what i may need to fix this thing. Is a Wells Gardner a manufacture that's something like a company that's makes cvt security monitors? Your crew kicksass. Never heard of a WG till I started watching TNT.

Every once and a while the Blue color go's out on my arcade . do you know how to fix that ?
