Theme song from the HERO !! If you love Scotland, you will LOVE this movie--gorgeous scenery, music by Mark Knopfler. Starring Burt Lancaster, Peter Capaldi, Peter Reichart, Jenny Seagrove, and more. Lovely movie. They played this at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo that I went to in either 1996 or 97. Theme of Braveheart at beginning of Tattoo, Skye Boat song also played, but song has my heart.

I was fortunate enough to land in Edinburgh that day, picked up by my Wee Scottish Lass we came to this amazing Tattoo, Mark Knophler has always been a great idol of mine and to hear "Going Home" with bagpipes got me teary eyed. Beautiful Scotland! Was good to see my people perform there too.

Heard this at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Melbourne Australia in 2016, I distinctly remember the feeling of my body being covered in goosebumps and the emotions it brought about and decided that this was going to be the song to be played on my final journey back home to my family members that have passed before me.
