Dan Brown novels are my guilty pleasure!
I've read all of the Langdon novels and even thought they follow the same structure I really enjoy them

Unfortunately the Da vinci code didn't work for me, but after your inferno review makes me want to give a second change... thanks

Thanks for the review of Inferno. I loved Angels & Demons and Da Vinci Code...not for truth, but makes you think and are fun to read.

Unusual dan brown book this is. A lot of twists and turns in the plot which are unnecessary and irritating to teh reader. Too many deceptions in teh plot make it a big no no. Its a unique story.

hi, i've read all Dan Brown's books and my two favorites are definitely angels and demons and inferno. It was da vinci code with angels and demons but inferno is such a excellent book. But you HAVE to read angels and demons because you'll be fascinating by the way the autor gives a hole story where you think that you know the murderer but at the end ALL dan brown's talent came into your face. (sorry for my english) i really want your opinion of this one.

I'd recommend the book Shoeless Joe which was adapted into the film Field of Dreams. They're so different and oh so good. " If you build it, he will come."

Angels and demons is the best book in this series . Inferno is good too, but angels and demon was epic

I'm unashamed to be a Dan Brown fan. The criticism leveled against him is sour grapes: poor writing (that earned him almost 200 mil), plagiarism (yawn), travelogues (a kernel of truth there, but reading Brown is like reading John Norman, you have to recognize what parts to skim), etc. Rigid plot formula is a favorite among Brown's detractors as well and all I can say is I love his particular formula. But Inferno is the only Langdon book that I've struggled with. Got the hardback when it first came out, stopped at page 307 out of 463; I'm on my second go round currently. Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code are great reads. The Lost Symbol wasn't as good, but those first two Langdons set impossibly high water marks. For me, Origin comes in third on the Langdon list. Long story short, I might even read Digital Fortress and Deception Point now. How do those compare to the Langdon thrillers?

I really liked Angels and Demons. You definitely need to start that one.

Inferno by Dante Alighieri is a hard read. Not just for the language we no longer use but the theme and description. Dante was truly an amazing poet with a gift for romantic prose. It is very good, but you really have to focus and pay attention or it can get lost on you.

His book, La Vita Nuova (The New Life) chronicles his love for Beatrice Portinari. A young woman he met as a child at a May Day party in her home and saw only in the street as an adult.
Referenced in Dan Brown’s Inferno by Sienna (I only watched the film). He was immensely in love with her, but never told her. He held a ‘courtly love’. He was betrothed to another woman, Gemma Donati whom he wed in 1285 and Beatrice married another man at 22 in 1287 and died at age 25.

In Inferno-Purgatorio-Paradiso, after Virgil, Beatrice is his guide through the other half of Purgatorio and Paradise. “And looked at me, the way a mother might, seeing a child in his delirium.” She was immensely beloved to him. Although, she couldn’t really even say she knew him. ““… a fair, saintly Lady called to me
In such wise, I besought her to command me.
Her eyes were shining brighter than the Star;
And she began to say, gentle and low, …
‘A friend of mine, and not the friend of fortune,
Upon the desert slope is so impeded
Upon his way, that he has turned through terror,
And may, I fear, already be so lost,
That I too late have risen to his succor.’”

I don't hate is books but it's too Strachey an lengthy he should stop make the book big and how to execut the story short and don't twist the plot every moment sometimes it's illogical
