I also use pins to baste my quilts, and it used to be hard on my hands as well. Since I began using the "Kwik Klip" tool to close the pins, I have no more pain in association with basting, and am able to finish basting in one day. It is a great tool, and I highly recommend it! Thanks for another great video & have a great day! ☺

I love the idea of 5x5 and 5x8 inch blocks! I am using men's dress shirts to make baby quilts to donate and this will be a perfect size to cut everything out. I will use the strips for binding! P.S. we just rescued to cats and we are amazed at the cost of the vet bills. Thank goodness for the Neutering clinic!

this is a very helpful video. I like to watch quilting videos but very few show you how to put the quilt layers together after you make the block. I don't have a long arm quilter either and it is highly unlikely I will be purchasing one, nor do I want to send my quilts out to be quilted. I like finishing them myself, so I do as your video shows. I stretch it out on the floor, table or bed, pin and then quilt with my domestic machine. Quilting is usually stitch in the ditch or something similar. It works out very nice and pretty. I also use the "quilt as you go" method very frequently. It is a wonderful method of quilting in small sections. It was helpful for me to see how you placed the pins, I never knew the reason they were bent.
Thanks for this video.

Oh, I wish I could get on the floor. If I did, couldn't get up.
Enjoy your videos.

Totally agree with your opinion on dogs. I LOVE THEM, but they have become a luxury item.

Patty, have you seen the XL quilting clamps the madam sew sells? They are wonderful for keeping your rolled section in place while you are quilting on domestic machine! And they are on sale often! They come 6 to a box!

Hi Patti. When I was learning to baste the teacher had us tape each layer with masking tape tight, then pin baste them. Thank you for showing us another way. Very pretty quilt.

Your quilt is gorgeous!
I feel you pain over bluprint! I used my entire spool of peachy pink quilting some beautiful fabric for bench cushions-it literally disappeared into the design. Wish I cd get more! I loved their fabrics and when they had a sale, man oh man did they spoil us w good prices!!! And those 6” strips? Perfect for so many things!
However, when they decided to go out, I was so concerned abt not losing my classes (& that’s how I found your channel, BTW) but I was never notified they were hvg a clearance sale! 😱I missed the whole thing! Then months later I saw some posts abt how ppl had made out like bandits! Wish I had known! I miss them for their wonderful supplies! 😩
Plus, since I was a member, I got free shipping on all supply orders, and man did that spoil me!!! I HATE paying shipping for supplies now!
