Grace of Kings has been sat on my shelf for so long, and for some reason I'm just never drawn to it. 😫 You're the second person I've heard that didn't enjoy Seasonal Fears; starting to think I should give that a miss. 🌙

Books that’s inspired my faves could have been one of your categories.
Oohh I am excited for Locklands

You nailed my exact feelings about Fitz when you said that you don’t have any complaints about his character but also don’t enjoy following him so closely and for so long. I just read Fool’s Errand recently too and I really wish we had more multi-pov books like Liveships.

Sorry to hear June was so rough for you, but glad you are getting settled and feeling better! It was a slow reading month for me where I didn't have the energy to read, but enjoyed nearly everything I finished reading. Goliath was such a dynamic book to read and A Taste for Poison and the Penric and Desdemona novella I read really pulled me through to the end of this month.

I've never checked out ant Robert Jackson Bennett but he is definitely on my radar to check out sometime. Yay I'm glad you had so much fun with Daughter of the Moon Goddess I still need to check that one out one of these days.

I’ll probably start Locklands this week. Glad to hear it was good. June was a good reading month. Had a few that kept me up later than I should.

Sorry to hear June was so 'meh'. I totally feel you though, apparently my reading mood decided to take a vacation last month 🤣🥲
Anyway, I loved hearing your thoughts on these books! Great to hear that you enjoyed The Grace of Kings. I also rated it 4 stars, but book 2 and 3 have both lived up to my 5-star predictions (bc the character work is just way more up my alley in those), so fingers crossed the same will be true for you!
And yay for Locklands! I hope to get to that one soon... after I do a proper reread of book 1 and 2 😅

Here's hoping for a better July, reading-wise. I definitely would be interested in a "should you read" for the Founders trilogy. 🌛🌚

Oof, I still need to read Foundryside. It is staring at me from a shelf (though now I have smothered it inside a moving box) and judges my inactivity. xD

I agree that Daughter of the Moon Goddess was just fun! There were some great twists and I didn't hate the love triangle as much as I expected to. I preoordered the next book!

I loved The Undocumented Americans, too. It's such a good book!

I liked the sequel to Grace of Kings by far and away better.
Parable of the Talents was great, yeah!
Haven’t heard of Locklands - very cool!

🌛I discovered your channel not that long ago but I really love your reviews, they are just so well thought through and articulate, wish I could do that haha.
Also enjoyed Daughter of the Moon Goddess when I read it, so fun and I'll pick up the next one for sure. I am curious but also a bit scared about reading Middlegame, not too sure why.
My favourite reads for June were Nightcrawling by Leila Mottley, Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik and The Dragon Republic by RF Kuang 😊

I'm glad you enjoyed Daughter of the Moon Goddess - I think I might have liked it a little more condensed too

If you enjoyed the Undocumented Americans you might also enjoy The Loneliest Americans by Jay Caspian Kang. They go into immigration policies and trends in the US and also explore POCs relationship to whiteness, complicity etc.

I'm waiting in a long line for the audiobook of Seasonal Fears so I can immersion read it. I think from your experience, I'm going to need it. Sorry your month was a little lackluster, here's to some reading redemption in July!

Wishing you peace after your move! I moved two weeks ago and am really starting to feel like I can exhale. :) hopefully July is a better reading month for you!
