Thank God 9 pharma companies are upholding ethical approaches to their vaccine trials.Transparency and openness about results and set backs reassures me far more than those who would hide data and the process followed for producing their vaccines. A safe vaccine that works is well worth the wait.

Not a good take in my view. Yes the trial is paused mind it not stopped. This gathers confidence among candidates and also consolidate our data.
When you are injecting 30 k patients you will have certain people developing certain side effects, the trial is paused to rule out if it's because of vaccine or if it's purely coincidental.
Say for eg a trial subject developed heart attack even with base line normal cardiac function at the beginning. The phenomenon thought not so common having 1 in 1000 chance of developing it normally, you need to pause the trial and make sure it's due to vaccine or not
