My grandfather on my mom side was in the Navy during World War II southern pacific. He speaks of the terrible storm that hit the seventh fleet and took down many ships. He’s been gone now for 16 years. What a guy. And some of the stories he told us were just. Crazy.

My dear Dad was a submariner 15 yrs of his 26 yr Naval career and had a close call where the crew was ordered to their bunks to await their dark fate after diesel engine failure, but two brave sailors got them going and saved the crew.

I'm glad this Sub was found. The 85 Submariners who went down with her. The families left behind and loved ones now can have some closure. My thoughts and prayers to those 85 men lost and their surviving family. 💪🏻🙏🏻✨

She also sank IJM Taiho one of the newest carriers for the IJN. This was during the Battle of the Philippine Sea.
