Thomas Sowell is an American economist and political commentator. He taught economics at Cornell University, the University of California, Los Angeles, and since 1980 at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where he is currently a Senior Fellow.

That is so obvious, can't believe it needs saying. Living in Asia, and everyone, unless they are VERY poor, manages to send their kids abroad, and the consensus is that you need a good job to take care of your family. Parents see their kids as an investment. To be nurtured into the best possible result, socially, at least. This is sometimes at the expense of personal growth but it doesn't have to be. And being unsuccessful socially is not a recipe for fulfillment either. It is racial culture that creates the gap. The good news is that culture can evolve and change.

Asian kids have to study twice as hard as anyone. They don't have time for the weekend beaches. They don't waste time at skating ring. So there is no excuses for Black Students. Asian students are definately being discriminated from entering into best college.

Every weekend during undergrad, when you passed the chemistry building, the Asians students were studying.
