I baby proofed as we needed. Basically we followed our oldest around to find the things she would touch and baby proofed that. So a lot of the things you mentioned we didn't need to do because she was just not interested in touching them. This helped save a lot of money on certain things that would have not been helpful.

Just a heads up for the baby gates. Do NOT use a pressure mounted gate at the top of stairs! It doesn’t matter how tight it is installed, if an adult leans on it, it can tip over! We have a terrifying indecent where my 1 year old was crawling up the steps and my husband accidentally leaned onto the baby gate at the top of the stairs and he AND the baby gate fell on top of our baby! Please read all the instructions with whatever baby gate you buy. No pressure mounted gates are allowed to go at the top of stairs. They’re for hallway use only

The best baby proof inspector is the baby. He/She will find every tiny thing you might have over looked or did not think about :))). Very costly, but totally worth it :)))

As a new dad with his baby gaining mobility, thank you!!! This calmed my nerves and gave me a great list to start with.

I absolutely love your videos dude. As a soon to be first time dad, your videos have helped put my mind at ease with so many things. Your videos have all been so informative and helpful, even for a dad from South Africa. Thank you.

As a fellow YouTuber and dad, I gotta say how much I appreciate your videos. I love your laid back presentation style, quality B roll, background music, detail, and pacing. Seriously good stuff. :)

I really appreciate this video and taking the time to give out good common sense advice for parents who have little ones. I know I’ll be making some changes here soon especially when my son will be able to soon crawl. Already anxious about that. Wish parents the best btw

I'm an abuse survivor shelter manager and have very little experience with baby proofing. I learned a lot! We have some awkward spaces at the shelter, and retractable baby gates are the way to go

Mom of 2 (8 and 2 year old boys) and never thought about the throw blankets! We’re out of that stage but it totally makes sense.

I wish I knew what's wrong mentally with those people who dislike instructive videos like this?

Nice video. Some people call babyproofing creating a "Yes space" (a space where your baby can freely explore and play without the need to tell them "no"). I think that's kind of a nice way of thinking about it.

The spring door stoppers... the cap can come off if they are playing with it and they could choke on it! This one is always overlooked

I’ve been watching your channeling since my wife pregnancy, awesome info for new dads like me. Thank you man. Next step, baby proofing.

I love this video! One thing I will say is be careful with retractable gates! My daughter was able to figure out how (by pushing and pulling she fandangled it open) and almost took a tumble down the stairs. Make sure the retractable gates aren’t easy for a toddler to push and pull to open. It might’ve been a wicked fluke but I’m glad her mother and I were paying enough attention we stopped her as soon as the gate swung open

For the Pantry, we switched our baby’s room locking door handle for the non locking handle that was on the pantry door since their room does not need a lock. We then just use the emergency push pin to unlock the pantry as the key.
