Sold my Tracker when it felt like they didn't care for it with the new Mini coming up. 1.7 feels a bit underwhelming after a year going by since 1.6. I hope 1.8 won't take as long. Went with the M8 instead, and it matches my workflow much better.

Love the channel and keep up the great work.

The best place for updates overview be it Deluge or Tracker hands down. Thank you!

I picked another Tracker due to the current sale price of $359 new. No plans for it to be a major part of my setup, but more a stand-alone device. This new unit feels way better built than my original, which was a Pete Cannon special edition. Zero encoder wobble. Zero key issues.

This giant price drop brought me back. Third Tracker. TBH I love them but stick to standalone and just quick tracks. They don't really fit with the normal music I make but I find it so fast and fun to make some quick glitchy beats. Not replacing my Deluge ever but the Tracker is fun and at $359 it's a no brainer.

oh, great.
I've just, quite reluctantly, parked my tracker so I can concentrate on learning the deluge (I have two now), as well as reminding myself how the blackbox (three of them) & the octatrack work. this will mess up my preparation by giving me even more choice.
the tracker sequencing paradigm is my favourite part about it, & I found it a transformative experience after years of working on (e.g.) sequentix P3/cirklon.
the architecture of a project in the tracker just seems more intuitive to me. on the deluge, I love the clip mode & the arranger mode, but the song mode that sits in between them just seems like a temporary storage area for patterns & loops, prior to them being organised into an arrangement. feels unfinished.
I never felt that the tracker was unfinished. clearly it has some hardware limits, but it's still perfectly competent & capable of sitting in the middle of a much larger rig, controlling anything & everything, & to a lot of people it will make sense like that. for me, it was a go-to, when I found the learning curve of the deluge too steep (I've got over that now, clearly!)
I'd happily do a set with the tracker & a synth module. I have a 'play' too, but it's not really doing it for me. wrong sort of music seems to fall out of it. my son likes it, because it can do phonk, whatever that is! 😂

I was very upset when I found out that I could not import mod and it files into my tracker. After all, this was a very cool and unique feature. It was possible to take sounds from old modular tracks and create something new based on them. Moreover, the files took up minimal disk space. We could leave this function for people like me. It may not be perfect compatibility, but it greatly expands the capabilities of the device.

No doubt the tracker has some cool functions, though why does it feel like I'm beta testing a finished product? I feel like a lot of the new functions should have been there from the beginning and it still is buggy here. Had a few crashes with 1.7 already, just randomizing stuff in the fx lanes with the fill options (didn't happen in 1.6). I want to support it, but for now it stays a sketch unit to sample from every now and then :) . I initially got it for the .mod support, to try and pimp old protracker mods from the Amiga, but was disappointed with the sound and command conversion, so the omission isn't that big of a deal here. But I liked the idea of being able to save the tracker song sketches as .mods (though limited, because of not converting all pattern command fx's) and pimp the ideas in Renoise. Hopefully a conversion tool will see the light for this kind of stuff!

Hey does your tracker still play Nintendo ROM files ??

I don't have one (yet), but apparently midi lags can be reduced or eliminated using some midi latency settings on the PT, right?

Those drums are off. Not trying to be rude, I do appreciate the videos :)

1.7 is great features added but it’s buggy, not entirely sure what causes it but seems it has something to do with when I playback samples rapidly and then switch patterns over quickly, was the times that it would freeze on me 😓 killer update but hopefully they have another update soon to patch out that bug

This machine could play nintendo ROMs and noobs would still complain about lack of "support" LOL

Removed mod and .it support . The first piece of hardware in history to remove a feature …..well done polyend, well fkn done.

The ideas for 1.7 including the improved sound quality are good, but overall the firmware update 1.7 is terrible. Has turned the machine into a buggy, crashing mess. It crashed 3 times while making a track. It was so bad I went back to 1.6.

That’s cool device but software looks beta 😞 When trying make something interesting & complex - it’s clicking & lagging. 1.7 not fixed it.
