In Australia, the majestic Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and one of the most stunningly beautiful places on the planet. But lurking beneath the surface are some of its more sinister inhabitants, such as sharks, snakes and wild dogs, making it a dangerous paradise. Directed by Victoire Mabille, Fraser Island is a must-see for any nature lover brave enough to explore its 15 kilometers of coastline. Director: Victoire Mabille

I’m an Aussie and trust me, Fraser Island is no more dangerous than a trip to your local supermarket

Stayed on Fraser Island for a week. Did some hiking in the forest and along the beach. We wore snake gaiters and firm boots when crossing grasslands or following narrow forest tracks. Yes, we did keep our eyes open. With a suitable off-road car and tire pressure reduced to 16 psi we never remotely ran the risk of getting stuck. We camped at designated sites where Dingos came very close but did not pose a serious risk for adults. Nobody in his right mind would consider swimming in the ocean near Fraser Island, anyway. Tourist groups similar to the one covered in the video can be quite a nuisance. Unprepared, moving around in busses, ticking off spots at 15-30 min intervals and more often than not under the influence of alcohol.

The video is sensationalist and has little to do with actual experience on Fraser Island. Just inform yourself about reasonable safety precautions beforehand and keep your eyes open . Fraser Island is absolutely worth a visit !

So basically it's dangerous for people who like doing stupid things like ignoring the rule to never dive/jump into unknown waterbodies for example?

Driving on Sydney and Melbourne roads is a whole lot more dangerous than anything on Fraser Island.

Fraser island is Australian natural island not a staffed, kindy playground. Understanding needed by European s and all tourists.

My son and I camped for 3 nights on Fraser Island back in 2007. An organised trip and were told, under no circumstances swim in the ocean. I didn’t need to be told. There was no way. I only managed about 6/7 seconds when we had a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. I kept hearing the music from Jaws in my head!! Anyway, we saw one Dingo and Tiger Sharks when we were up on Indian Head as well as Ozzy swimmers!! Australians are a breed onto themselves! Fraser Island is a great place to visit as is anywhere in Oz. Fabulous country.

Well I lived and worked on the island for 12 months as an Australian I know how to respect the rules but it’s always the over seas tourist that get in trouble cause there don’t listen and there don’t abide by the rules

How could one truly “relax” on this beach

This group of tourists looks like the premise of a campy horror movie where their grizzled driver comes back at the last minute to save the last 20-something survivor but as the camera zooms in on his face he starts to turn green and you realize he was the werecroc all along.

I like the clip of the carpet python "and here is deadly taipan" 😅

In Oz Carpet pythons are often encouraged to live in the house. They are mild mannered, and they keep down the rodents. I had one that slept all day on a little shelf in my kitchen. Guests thought it was porcelain until it moved. I have seen one around five meters long here, but they grow up to ten meters. The larger ones are rare, but they will eat a baby if they get a chance. Sort of like how a car can kill you quite easily, but a large snake is very rare.

Snake island off the coast of Brazil is considered by most to be the deadliest island. So packed with venomous snakes, that people are not allowed to go there. If they were, the death toll would be much higher than Fraser island.

sharks, snakes & wild dogs have always been there. Its humans who decided to set up a resort there

You should keep people away from this island and I’m not thinking about the danger…… I’m thinking that it’s such a beautiful place as you described- you need to protect it from humans ‼️✨

Just don’t swim in the ocean for the sharks (plenty of freshwater swimming available on the island) don’t leave kids unsupervised or feed the dingoes, and watch where you walk for the snakes. Follow those three simple steps, and you’ll see why the indigenous call it K’gari (Paradise)

Actually there's a video of Fraser Island filmed from drone, and it shows how close the sharks are. So now I understand why we couldn't go into the water on Fraser Island. Full of Tiger Sharks. Check Fraser Island drone
