I always have a 9-pin D-Sub extension flat cable around. This way you could prevent the joystick plug reaching into views.

Great video. I agree though, would have been better with joystick port on the back or side or for the whole device to lay flat out the back of the Speccy.

So a silly question based on ignorance. Was cassette the only way to load programs into the Spectrum? I assume there was no cartage system to use the expansion port?
