I tried every pedal to get that "Dumble John Mayer sound "and almost gave up until I tried this one. This Donner Dumbal is it. The best by far.

As a professional who has tried tons of effects for years and years, I have to say that this is the one that gives me the perfect sound. Not a heavy metal or heavy overdrive, but that sweet, smooth, gentle grit that you can play chords with, and then go into a solo and get the great: Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour sound.

Whatever your opinions are of the Dumble craze or budget pedals, the "Dumbal" is a great front-of-chain pedal, and it's wonderful for pedal stacking, too. In addition to giving my clean sound bite (add post-compression playing P-90's for a nice Gilmore "Another Brick in the Wall" solo tone), it adds sparkle and presence to my other OD pedals, especially when using humbuckers. Though it doesn't have much gain at unity for more obvious overdriven tones, at such a low price point, you can hardly argue. If you are driving a clean amp to the edge of OD and it's your always-on tone, Its additional volume above unity will do the job. It's smaller than a typical Boss footprint, so it is pedalboard friendly.
Great sound when adding chorus or flanger (Andy Summer's chime). It really helps the Wampler Plexi with pick attack. I also stack it with a Boss Dual Overdrive SD-2 (lower OD settings) and a Joyo ACtone (another useful budget pedal). I tend to run my Fender Hotrod Deluxe with less presence and more mids (for a good darker Jazz-blues tone clean), so the Dumbal provides the option of adding some SRV bite to my OD choices.

I still haven't heard a convincing demo of this pedal. It seems fine as an overdrive in itself. But that's about it. I get more fizz than Dumble Overdrive.
..Then again...it does say "Dumbal" and _not_ "Dumble" .
