How to Build a Website Using a Subdomain and WordPress (Freelance Web Design)

In this video I will show you how to create a subdomain as a staging site. This is useful for freelance web designers or when working at an agency. The purpose of using a subdomain is that you can build out a website on a live URL to show clients progress on their site without having to take down their existing website or put up an "Under Construction" page. You will also retain ownership of the site so in case you have any issues collecting payment you do not have to worry about the client already having the content you created.

Am I suppose to Download all my files/pages as well to a Flash Drive from the current site, or can they just be Transferred to the new site?? Thanks for the tutorial. I want to do this. One thing I'm concerned about is maintaining my inbound links. If I do this, will I maintain my inbound links that I've accumulated over several years. This is contributing to whatever SEO I currently have and I don’t want to lose any these from Google search index. Please advise. Thank you very much.
