This session of lecture series shall focus on understanding different Triaxial tests, Advantages of Triaxial tests over Direct shear and Uc tests, Soil specimen preparation, Types of Triaxial tests - CD test, CU test and UU test.
This lecture shall also focus on the Lab test - Consolidated Drained test (CD test), Sample preparation, test procedure, Analysis of test results, Stress - Strain relationships in case of Dense sand or Over consolidated soils and Loose sand or Normally consolidated soils, Determination of shear strength parameters of the soil from CD test, Practical applications in which CD test is conducted.
