FJR 1300 trooper mod*

Tried it without the full mod... And I think it rocks. The full mod rasps a lot more. This mod seems more throaty. The iPhone mic may be a bit pants for this recording. On the road it's not loud.. Even with the screen up you hear more wind than exhaust. Mot next week... Maybe I should have waited.?

To be frank, it's slightly less responsive a year later.... Maybe due a service now. At first I thought it sounded good, now it's just annoying. Oh hindsight my old friend... Why can't you visit before I do stupid things?

Yes, I just did this mod. After fully opening the first side (removing pipe section too), I didn't think it was very loud, so I did them both to match. (including removing the section of pipe) Now, it might be too loud. I didn't know leaving the pipe section in was an option! :) that's CERTAINLY the easier portion of the surgery. (15 sec, versus 45 minutes with the dremel)

So, did you remove the pipe section at any point? And if not, did the pipe section, now being detached a from the rear wall, did it rattle inside that rear wall? That would be heinous.


My FJR has 61, 000 miles on the clock, so the shaft drive seems quite loud, and so I just wanted the engine noise above the gear noise a bit. I was hoping for a mellow, deep 50% increase in volume) I'm assembling a video to help people get closer to what they want. I've taken a lot of footage and hope to let me people know what they are getting into much better than the simple videos that are out on this. It

I've now put about 100 miles on it since the change. Actually, I think I'm liking it - but just a little too loud for touring. I think a couple hours of it will get to me. I have about a 3 hour ride tomorrow. That should let me know, and I'll report back.
