Filmed live in Pink Martini's Portland, Oregon Headquarters in December 2020, during the band's touring hiatus due to the pandemic, this special trio performance, featuring bandleader Thomas M. Lauderdale, lead singer China Forbes, and drummer Andrew Borger, was commissioned by UCSB for broadcast to UCSB's Arts and Lectures patrons. Based on the French-language poem "Minuit, chrétiens," written in 1843 by poet Placide Cappeau, "O Holy Night" was set to music by composer Adolphe Adam, and has become a beloved Christmas standard.
