Astonishing, just astonishing . . . in so many ways! The mutual respect between teacher (Darol) and student (Kathleen), the student becoming a colleague ('that's how it's supposed to be'), the ease, the enjoyment. The educational lessons are right there in the way these two interact. And the skill, the mastery - not to mention the musical insights, the importance of structure, understanding scales. On practice - have the instrument where you can pick it up easily, vary your practice venue, observe patterns, master more than major. And the results - the last few bars of Away in a Manger (I think it was) were sweet . . .
