As an archaeologist I wore mineral sunscreen on face and neck, leaving it on the skin like this, then applied the highest factor chemical sunscreen on my arms (and legs if I wore shorts, which was rare).

The youngsters always fought against wearing any sunscreen on site until a much loved professor at my uni got diagnosed with stage 4 incurable skin cancer because he didn't use anything in the 80s to protect his skin. Suddenly my 2 hourly alarms to reapply sunscreen were met with the downing of tools as collectively we all made sure to rehydrate and protect. Thankfully the rate of skin cancer in Archaeology is at a plateau after many, many years of steep increases in cases. Soon that will begin to drop. Don't mess with the sun guys, it can be as cruel as it is kind

My uncle is a 4th generation dairy farmer who never wore sunscreen.. his head now looks like the bloody moon he has had that many cancers cut out.. its good you are raising awarness for farmers

Didn't know that there was two different types of sunscreen. I have very senistive skin and had to do 50+ spf, preferably 100 spf, now I'll have to check mineral sunscreen. Thank you for this info about it and no judging from me :)

zinc does wash off eventually. just dont throw the tube back on the seat then sit on it. but it is the best

Mineral is the Surfing go-to as well, usually coloured zinc because you can see where it is/isn't

DON'T FORGET YOUR EARS! Sorry for yelling. I'm not a sunworshiper by any means and yet I got cancer removed from there last year. Apparently, because most of us forget to put it there it's one of the most common places for cancer to start. It was on the back side of my ear. I would NEVER have seen it. I started getting an annual skin check from a dermatologist a few years back. Might have just saved my life. Be well folks.

I do this too. My puppers don't seem to judge, but the cow's sure do. One (250) dislikes it so much she licks it off like it's a problem. Though she does this anyways so maybiee it's just my face being the problem 🤷‍♀️
