I had a frat bro in veterinary college who woke up to little kittens crawling on his belly, still slightly bloody, eyes closed.
His cat loved him so much that she gave birth on his belly, & he slept through the event. Absolutely killed me, that story!!!!

Making it smell familiar helps too. If they like one person in particular you can put their shirt in the bed for example.

I am fortunate enough to have a Manx long hair (Cymric)rescue called Celeste whom was a foster failure 13 years ago….everytime I buy a new bed and I do have more beds than cats, I put it down and HRH Princess Celeste Cymric Rescue who loves to help unpack anything from groceries to clothes to makeup will be in the bed making biscuits in less than a minute, the new bed then becomes her favourite spot. I think she spent the first year of her life in a living hell and she now appreciates the fine things in life as she should, she then will allow the other 3 resident cats to join her in her new bed.

I bought a bed for me cat, he ignored it for like half a year or a year, and then suddenly he was using it and into it. I put it somewhere he likes to be that wasn't comfy, and now I find him there all the time. Almost got rid of my cat bed, but im glad I just waited. Patience is the key!

Never knew texture was important until I learned the hard way. I've given away and returned unwanted beds to stores. My cat is surprisingly content with a thick blanket on the floor 😹

My Cat has a big dog sized bed and she loves to stretch and lay in it with a ton of blankets. She loves her blankets.

My cat seems to like soft and fluffy, he pees in it. Must be a spokesperson for toilet paper. Soft and fluffy on his behind.

I put one of my worn tshirts over our cats bed it helps encourage her to use it. She doesn't enjoy the fluffy texture U normally get on cat beds

We have two kitcats now that our senior has passed over the rainbow bridge. We gave set their matching round beds, one each beside our sitting room chairs. The trade who sleeps in which bed all the time. We also have a cave bed as well which they almost never use.

My cats are very particular on texture and placement of a bed. Sometimes they absolutely love a bed other times I end up donating the bed to the local shelter after it goes ignored for weeks. They both have their personal preferences.

I have spent so damn much money on all kinds of beds, and where does my cat sleep ? In a cardboard crate my Costco groceries were in. He has been sleeping in that box for 5 years now ! All those fancy beds I have bought ? Sitting around, totally unused!

I just added some catnip to my cats new bed when she ignored it. She rolled around in the catnip and it decided she loved it and it’s been a favorite spot ever since

I got needs like these for our cats. I put them with treats, toys, sat them in the room so they could get used to them. Then moved them to a favorite spot. One cat quit going to it's favorite spot and the other literally dragged it's bed away from it's favorite spot then went back to lay in that spot with nothing there. So the dogs got the bed for a bit. Then they were cleaned and ultimately donated. 🤣 The dogs have great beds and the cats love their towers. All is back to normal

I had one of these. I thought it would be great. But all of them hated it. It was so fluffy and soft. It was too soft and they where nervous to use it.

Ya know how I get my Critters used to new bed i find a cute one I really really like I buy it I wash it I put it down wahla new bed, I have them literally everyplace in every room I even have critter beds on our people beds it marks their special spot 😁 oh almost forgot i have beds under our people beds too😁
