Woodturning an Oak table lamp

This was a bit of an experimental turn to see if I could make oak spault, I've successfully managed it with beech in the past so this was a really interesting project. Especially dealing with all of the knots form the crown piece it came from.

Excellent job Tom, well done. Really like the shape wouldn't change a thing. Really like the way you explain each step, helps a lot for us beginners. Well done

I like the chunkiness, it allows the wood to catch a lot of the downwards light rather than it all hitting the table. I'd change nothing about it's shape. Thanks Tom.

I love it - it's beautifully not shiny and perfect, just how I like stuff. It shouldn't blow over in a breeze

Turned a table lamp a little while ago, a nice peoce of beech, that oak is and all its imperfections are first rate, so many disregard that type of timber, it has lived and shows its journey to the lathe, really good video again, thankyou!
