Your instructional videos are helpful and inspiring, Caleb. Thank you for sharing.

I appreciate not just the assembly process you've documented, but the entire tutorial package -- your high production values and calm, clear exposition. Watched a lot of "how-to" videos and your model stands out on YouTube, from the title and thumbnail to the final piece. Everything about your work demonstrates a deep care for your craft. Inspiring. (I know I already said that.)

Someone should be recruiting you to do paid corporate product demo videos, if they haven't already.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I recently went the NRB convention... this rig was PERFECT for what I was doing... I am in no way a professional at video (I Do Broadcast Audio Production). I customized it with my Canon G7x Mk 2, with a Zoom H2N recorder and paired it with a Rode Video Micro... It did EXCELLENT VIDEO INTERVIEWS... with HIGH-Quality separate audio. It was definitely highly efficient, easy to handle for long periods of time, and also an attention-getter. I answered a lot of questions about it and referred them to your video. THANK YOU AGAIN and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS!!!!

I can't say I would every vlog with a rig like that. After vlogging for over 100 episodes, I still just love holding the camera itself or at most using a gorilla pod. For me it's got to be simple if it's going to come with me.

The overhead shot at 2:44 is awesome. The mini tripod is super stable.

Genius. That contraption looks pretty funky but I am absolutely trying this with my a7iii

I really like the articulating arm to hold the mic. The audio quality is really good!

Really like the idea of the table tripod however the microphone arm maybe a small hassle. However for travel vlogging that arm would be a great essential to keep on standby in a bag for example, if you wanna do a sitting down scene or possibly an unboxing with the camera looking down. Love the videos Caleb!

Great content! Ive gotten more usable filming information (suggestions, ideas, personal experience, etc) from your channel than probably any other technical source... even years after you upload

Caleb - This is exactly what I have been looking for. I swear, it's like your reading my mind for your last 3 or 4 videos. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. This looks like a great set-up. I've watched this vid several times and have finally bought all the parts and put this rig together, kind of. I tweaked it a little, because it is mainly going to be used by my wife with her iPhone to her videos, but we can easily change it around to be used with my mirrorless SLR. Thanks again.

Love this setup. I can use this in a variety of situations. However, for handheld vlogging I don't see the need for that Rode Video Mic Me attached to that gizmo. A mic mounted right on top of the camera works great. It's out of the way, and is definitely close enough to get my voice without picking up wind noise, etc. using a fuzzy dead cat wind sock.

Love it! great ideas with the articulating arm, makes for more versatility for sure.

Thanks man! Somehow you always put out the video I'm looking for right when I need it! On the hunt right now for a set up like this. Upgrading from a D5100, really want a G7 but a little out of my price range at the moment so unless one pops up on Craigslist, may end up with an a6000 with iPhone as monitor. Only problem with that is figuring out audio better audio and keeping it simple and portable. Anyways, thanks for always putting out good info man!

looks somewhat intrusive if you're trying to stay low key and capture environments in their natural state, but otherwise looks to be a creative, one man filming setup.

Man... Your audio on the Rode Video Micro is SPOT ON! When I try to use mine on my GH4 it blows so hard. Had to get the Rode Video Mic Pro. Love this setup.

For those with a Canon EOS Camera such as the M5, 80D, 5Dmk4, etc., you can use the Canon Camera Connect app for remove live viewing of your camera. It works great. I use a spare iPhone 5 to do the remove viewing.

Cool idea Caleb. I have been following your channel and watching your videos for a while now and I really like videos like these where you come up with new ways to attach and create diy rigs. Good stuff.
