The content I create is intended for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can permanently damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear safety gear during the entire soapmaking process, even while cleaning up. Hi! In case you’re watching this and wondering why I added the kaolin clay and essential oils when I did, I just completely forgot to add them both before dividing the soap. 😂 Since they were going into the entire batch (and the EOs were non-accelerating), I could have just added them to the oils or before I divided the soap for the swirl. Honestly, I'm glad I remembered them at all given the day I was having. It was just one of those days. 😜
