The G.T.A needs more green spaces to help with flooding. There are so many empty parking lots would make great parks.

The cleanest Mississauga has been in years!

A high water table, thick clay soil, and great lakes formed by thousands of years of glaciation. It's hard to conquer those elements.

Worked in Mississauga for 30 years. It pretty much always floods in certain areas, sometimes as high as 4 feet. Surprised they have never fixed it in all this time.

Yup, Mississauga needs more condos and parking lots. This is what happens when you get rid of green spaces.

We even had a waterfall underneath the milton line bridge near Dixie and Blundell. The water reached more than 4 feet and it even submerged a car fully. The water almost reached the ceiling of the bridge too. That waterfall was also amazing to watch. It sounded like a real waterfall.

Plastered over the land concrete and asphalt. What do they expect?

By your own radar image, that is not a big storm. 2 inches of rain stiffle the city...lol

We deserve this tbh. Return these hideous, hellish cities to the wild. Bring back green spaces with plants that have deeper roots than lawn grass. Etc etc etc.

Mississauga's one one of those infrastructure needs that McKenna never got to.

The city is literally crying for new infrastructure

they do know that the entire province was once a massive natural lake reservoir, right? which is why the landmass holds thousands of lakes and rivers. hence, the region will be under water yet again in a couple of years time. so why not build up and away from the soil then? all the money they are wasting in cleanup, insurance handouts, and rebuilding could be put towards establishing elevated cities that will be effectively protected from floods.

Queen Fredrica flooded after big rainfall last month too. Video of garbage bins floating down the road.

Maybe instead of spending money on rainbow crosswalks spend it on infrastructure

I grew up in an area with poor drainage and it flooded before it was fixed. But in urbsn areas, the planning was terrible in order to maximize profit per acre. Very difficult to fix now.
