On June 22, 1941, the Brest Fortress became the site of the start of Operation Barbarossa with the Nazi Germany invasion of the Soviet Union. From the Soviet perspective, WWII in Belarus is where the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45 initiated.

Given the brutality of Germany's Third Reich and the subsequent casualties suffered by the Soviets eventually counting into the millions, the Brest Fortress has become the symbol of Belarusian defense of their homeland. At the Brest Fortress Hero Complex today, in a family-friendly environment, visitors enjoy a natural, and ominous, ambiance while learning about the sacrifices made by previous generations.

With a tour of the Brest Fortress Hero Memorial Complex, Matt gains a different outlook about the Eastern Front and WWII in Belarus.

this video though illustrative in an apology for the Russians using russian political terms and devoid of any real critical analysis. the use of local so called 'experts' was just inaccurate propaganda.
