The bleeding might be affected by the type of weave the shirts have. The way the fibers interlock will surely conduct liquid in different ways.

I'm glad you went with the plastic tips, because bleach reacts with metals. (as you learned it also dissolves paper cups). that's why when you bleach your hair it tells you specifically not to use a metal bowlor stirring spoon. the best materials in my experience are plastic, the only thing it won't attack

I really love how the Bob Ross one turned out. The fuzzy imperfect lines of bleach actually made it look super oil painting esque. And i think making it look silhouette worked out really well. Reminds me of those national parks t-shirts.

I bought some all purpose cleaner with Bleach from Walmart the other day and when I went to pick it up the worker brought it out to my car but the all purpose cleaner bottle had leaked and so when he handed me the bag it was basically a bleach water balloon, I noticed right away and handed it back to him and he went and got me new bottles but I of course I had a black shirt on and it was one of my favorite shirts and it somehow got ruined from the bag. So now my favorite shirt is ruined, but I think I could do some tye-dye bleaching and make it an ok mistake. Thank you for making these videos because I never would have thought about this idea without them.

You probably already know this, but, while the metal tips aren't great for working with clothing, they're awesome for using to fill cracks with resin. I literally just did that before watching this video to stabilize some hairline cracks in a woodworking project.

Okay- i was a skeptic throughout this entire video.. but! I genuinely love how each one turned out in the end. I initially hated the purple one in particular, but it ended up looking like glowing neon!
And the look of half the shirt being designed and the back being plain just looks like 99% of the tshirts we had growing up. It doesnt look strange whatsoever!
Katelyn did amazingly with her sketches, and you both should be super proud of how these turned out! I never comment but you can tell you're not the most psyched about these. I think you should be :)

i love their relationship so much. it's got the humor to it, admiration, consolation, seeing how much they enjoy eachothers company, how well they work together, and the pure love that you can see through the screen.

these are so fun! you can actually make your own bleach gel using bleach, water, and corn starch -- i used that technique to make shirts for a few concerts! it didn't bleed at all, and it lifted the color of the shirt really cleanly, but it was kind of a pain to wash off. i would love to see you guys try some homemade bleach gel and see how that compares to the toilet bowl cleaner, you always make things like that so fun :-)
