Bugatti Chaser: 700WHP Audi RS3 - One Take

preview_player
Показать описание
This 2019 Audi RS3 packs 700HP and can run high 9 second quarter mile times (with the right tires and surface). It's as quick as a McLaren 720S, Ferrari Pista, Bugatti Veyron, and the 2022 Porsche Turbo S. And it does it for pennies on the dollar.
How is it so fast? What's been done? What's it like to launch it? Watch and find out.

Chapters:
0:00 - Intro
1:00 - History of RS3
3:00 - 700HP button
5:30 - 2nd gear
7:25 - Mouth sounds
7:59 - Mods list
8:40 - Launch
9:50 - Oligarch power
13:36 - How's it handle?

Correction: I said the RS3 engine is different from the TT RS. They have the same engine but it has been lightened from the previous 5-cylinder thanks to an aluminum block, magnesium oil pan, and hollow crank shaft. It's 57lbs lighter.

Would you rather daily a McLaren 720S or this RS3 with $250k in the trunk?

I’ve had mine for 4.5 years and 85k hard miles. Problem free. Audi did an amazing job on this car.

Zach, this comment is to you personally.
I've been a fan of TST for years n' years no, especially One Takes. Can't say I've seen them all, but damn close! You've always been good on camera n' the chemistry with Matt when both of you are on a drive is always there. But, years back you were more workman like, more 'a matter of fact' in your presentation. Sure, there was occasional wit n' the personality would shine through...
But, not like today! There has been a MARKED improvement in your on camera presence, your enthusiasm and, if I can get geeky about public speaking, your voice modulation (aka variation in pitch, pace n' power of your voice)! Amazing transformation. Makes the videos fly by, they are that enjoyable.

And with all that, its still so understated. Do 9 second quarters, park it at the mall and no one knows any better. It's amazing how well the Audi/VW DI engines do with some ethanol and its also amazing how well the DQ DSG's hold together with so much added power.

I've been waiting for this review for so long since you've guys been talking about it on the podcast. This thing is nuts.

More of these videos please.
Love all the content and I know the press car life is fun but a good percentage of us joined the channel for the modified cars.
Not criticism, just some feed back :)

The GTR was originally market as a super-performance car for anyone, anytime anywhere. While it was true when it debut at well under $100k, the price quickly climbed. The RS3 is the successor to that ethos. Anyone can get in these cars and point to point, it's nearly untouchable by most cars. And like the GTR the moddability and durability is stunning. Such an amazing platform.

I have one of these and my favorite thing about it is the launch control sound. Never fails to blow my mind.

One of the best kept "secrets" is the R / S3 / RS3 series in terms of easy power and fun. The EA888 4 cylinder in the S3 is just a beast waiting to be unleashed! A simple tune and some bolt-on parts will put you in the 3.5s 0-60 and low 11 second quarter mile range (possibly even the 10s), and it'll be a nice purring daily driver all day every day that can get good gas mileage. The RS3 just ups that ability to crazy town levels with the same little amount of effort. If you're willing to dig into suspension and wheels, you can greatly improve the handling as well (which as you say isn't that bad to begin with).

I own a 8S TT RS and my wife has a RS3. Both are getting built and will likely be 800-850whp. She at least has proper coil overs on her RS3. If you are ever feeling squirrelly and are in Florida or nearby, let me know, Zack. You’re welcome to check them out.
