Never have I wanted to hug a Jeopardy player more than Mattea. Losing a father in the middle of one of the greatest tournaments in your career, and advancing to the Finals is a pain I could never imagine. 😢 As soon as it was revealed that Mattea won due to answering 50 questions as opposed to Andrew's 45, it was like a TV trope happening in real life. 🥲 Congratulations to James, Matt, and Mattea! 🥳

Even though I can't imagine the pain Mattea's feeling, I will say this... and I don't know how personal I want to get... I also had a family emergency earlier this month and I can't be there for a certain loved one due to something else important preventing me from seeing this person. 😢 Mattea's in my thoughts and may peace and love be granted to the Roach family. 💖🥺

Wow! Five years ago I was on Jeopardy (came in third 😢), but the Daily Double I got was in the category TIME FOR OPERA. The clue mentioned "not in the late afternoon, but in the Hall of the Billichungs (?) is this last of the Ring Cycle." With the "late afternoon" in the clue they were angling for TWILIGHT OF THE GODS but I gave it in Deutsch: What is GOTTERDAMMERUNG? So neat that the same opera came up for this exciting Final. Go Mattea!❤

First, I want to say that I was sad Andrew got eliminated in the semifinals and he is very kind player and is kind to the other contestants and secondly, I'm SO excited for the finals and I can't wait!

I'm guessing that a lot of rules had to be established before a single match was played... there could've been a scenario where a tiebreaker was needed and both contestants were not present at time of filming. So you make the tie breakers something that can be monitored while also allowing the contestant need not be present when making final determination.

A very emotional game show. I don't know how Mattea held it together after her announcement. Not a dry eye anywhere. Tonight's final belongs to James as he is by far the best player. Who gets second place is the question.
