@Flying the world Please check because some of the information stated may be misleading.
Firstly, Pakistani do not need to pay $300 for the Umrah visa per se. Umrah visa is free from the Saudi govt. but there is a fee charged by Etimad (who act similarly to Gerry's as an outsourced center for document/bio-metric collection) and an additional fee charged by travel agents to show accommodation/transport from a registered Saudi service provider.
Secondly, the 300 you talk about is for a 1-year multiple entry visa and it is SAR, not USD.
Thirdly, the transit visa is NOT free. It is simply hidden in the ticket charges. The same flight with and without the layover will have a minimum difference of 300-400 SAR in price. Nothing comes free in this world, my brother, except our parent's unconditional love.
