Chloe sounds on this track like the great Allan Vache, in a highly talented band with fine stylists on each instrument and its own sound. Great to see Jim in this late recording. I was fortunate to sit in the Landing in San Antonio for a week of evenings in 2005 while attending an academic conference at the University and heard Jim's superb band, meeting him for a chat between sessions. A lovely guy, too. Incredible memories!

The fact that Cullum cues Chloe to play the melody (5:13) and she's not paying any attention just points out that she is not a team player, just a noodler interested in her own world. That is further borne out by her lack of playing together during the ensembles. Cullum and the trombone work well together.
