Thanks for showing that trick to jump relay. Easily found out my starter was bad 30 mins later all fixed.

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 and recently its been possessed. I turn the key and it cranks but no start. Sometimes I put it in neutral, back to park and it starts but then engine immediately shuts off. Happens when starting in neutral as well and usually after 4 or 5 tries, it finally stays on and runs good to go. The more i drive it in the day the less it happens when i restart the same day. The next day I have to do the whole 4-5 times again for that initial start of the day. No engine codes at all. Battery is brand new. I have no idea what the issue is but thinking it might be related to this video.

Thanks for the video. My 2011 wouldn't crank. I tried to jumper the relay and nothing. I arched the solenoid and got the starter to spin. After that i could use the ignition to start. I'm still not quite sure of the problem it could be the starter or the signal wire from the relay.

Oh and thanks for video i think i will be able to fix this truck eventually.I jumped across the two spots you showed and all i got was a little spark and nothing from starter so i asume i have bad starter?

Very helpful video. I’m having an issue where when I turn the key, sometimes it takes to to 3-4 seconds of holding the key over before it starts. I had the starter replaced this past weekend but the issue is still happening. Before I had the starter replaced, I had a couple instances where it wouldn’t start on the first key turn. But I turned it over and over a few times and it would start. Then be fine a bunch of starts in the future and do it again in a while. Any advice? Thank you!

I have a 2011 1500 sport with console shifter and key fob. When I turn the key I get no crank or anything. My truck also won't come out of park. I tried all of these steps, disassembled and cleaned the WIN module contacts. Still no luck. Any ideas?

Oof! lol, I was hanging on your every word, then you went into your outro, and my heart sunk, lol... this is right where I am at, but it turns over just fine, it won't start though.... I have fixed two wires, oddly enough, the same wire in 2 places, at the TIPM and at the PCM, I believe it's the ASD wire. green/orange tracer. ... I'm searching, because I really feel like it's just some real simple programming glitch I created with scores of boosts, attempted resets, battery disconnects, cz I fixed those wires, put new batt, starter works, I've messed around in the WIN also, but acc and ON run properly, and FOB buttons all work everything. OH!!

Also, I believe this because through all of this(4 yrs of hell) security light has always flashed as normal, along with the whole start up routine in the truck, but now the security light doesn't come on and the hood signals open when it's not, so It's like I changed something for the first time, but still no luck.... aarrgghhh! lol

Great video. I have a 2004 which is currently problematic. It will only RUN after battery has been disconnected and reconnected. After this, it will will fire, but cuts fuel immediately.

thanks for the video, I have a 2012 ram 5500. It sat for 9 months or so and now won’t start. All the fuses you had us check look good. I took the relay out and jumped it with a paper clip and it worked. Ingot a new relay and it’s still not starting. I do have a red flashing light on the dash. Any other ideas?

So the starter test showed my truck starter works fine. When I turn the key, the starter might go a bit then stop and clicking abounds, sometimes ‘service 4WD’ pops up.
I had a new engine dropped in a few months ago and it ran without issue. Still have not made it to the first 500mile oil change.
Battery is new and charged.
Red light I g bolt and such.
A year and a half ago dealer put in new ‘brain’ and harness.
I did try in neutral as well.

2011 RAM 1500, solenoid just clicking when key turned. Tried all the tips in the video. None worked.
Found the solenoid/starter connections needed to be cleaned. Once cleaned, truck starts like it is supposed to.
