Okay, sure he made mistakes in that game BUT, what if someone emptied the contents of a storage locker in the 18 yard box and he has to dive over a coffee table to make a save?

I work with some football camps with younger kids and I can say that Mike 100% impacts some of the younger keepers. Glad to see him exposed as a not so great keeper again.
Edit: I changed it to say football. Stop the hate plz

As a goalkeeper coach who coaches in the 5th tier of English football, I loved this breaks down the frauds and frustrations that us coaching have

We need more of this! Keep exposing the frauds!

I appreciate the fact that not only did he critique the parts that he did poorly, but also touch on the things he did correctly

I turned my daughter away from modern day goalkeeper YouTuber about 4 years ago. Had her just focus on the ones actually playing the game week in week out for tips and then told her to work hard in her own training and matches... she's been playing academy football for 4 years now. Unfortunately even at that level their influence is still dominant

The one where he's lazy after making a good save is so confusing to me. Because whenever I make a good or brilliant save I'm even more eager to get back up as it makes me prepared for the next shot and look better.

You’d think after two of your videos on him, he’d have actually got a bit better

What I love about criticism is that it’s honest and fair….. when his done well you give him credit but showing his flaws will only help him and the rest of the kids following him….

And when we thought that the dust settled, Modern Goalkeeping kept keeping wrong. If there's a fourth video to the series, that's gonna be super hype.

What a great video! Love how you point out that those flashy saves hardly ever happen in the games! What was shocking to me is how weak his power step is for his dives, he’s almost always diving backwards and even preloading his weight he really isn’t taking off like he does in his videos. Great breakdown!

What I like the most about this analysis is like you're not just completely flaming Mike over stuff he can't control and you also give him credit when it's due. You're not like just trying to personally bash him which I think is an amazing job of the analysis

Seeing this dude in a Dortmund match was just... Pure pain

So that’s what “beyond professional level” looks like

I'm 15 and even I have the experience and the anticipation to not come out at the first goal. My coach always taught me that if there is a defender next to the opponent or near him. Let him deal with it. Do not come out until you see him getting ready to shoot or he loses the defender or you know that the defender won't be able to do much. That, combined with my natural anticipation of the player allows me to save a lot of one on ones instinctively.

As someone who plays in goal at a very amateur level for more than 12 years, I think that those camera saves can only happen if the striker made the shot from a far away point from goal. In real matches, you don’t see those long shots often. I find it more beneficial to learn how to read 1v1 situations or movement around the boxes than just trying to be fancy.

I saw him in goal here and was waiting for this video 😂

This makes me realise how hard goalkeeping is and therefore makes me appreciate them more.

We need more analysis like this! Some great lessons for anyone who wants to improve as a goalkeeper. I appreciated they you were also very balanced in your analysis and it was about what to do and what not to do in those situations. This is the difference between goalkeepers who train and play games versus those just doing flashy set pieces for the camera.

His performance is beyond the professional level.
