I have two series 1 knackpacks (small I gave to my GF, medium I gave to my daughter) and the black series 2. I LOVE knackpacks, ESPECIALLY the series 2. It’s a very nice security upgrade over the series 1 with all compartments now lockable. The series 2 isn’t big and bulky but it can handle quite the load. For all knackpacks I love the expandable suitcase compartment. If you’re not traveling it’s an extra EDC area. I keep a collapsible grocery basket in there usually or some items for work. Great organization and weight distribution. I have the knack water bottle and 4 packing cubes also. Great gear I highly recommend Knack to anyone I come across like I’m a part owner lol.

What I don’t like is the side handle. Not necessary to me. If I stow the straps I just use the top handle. It carries better in travel mode from the top handle anyway. I’m not a sternum strap fan either I just tossed that into the bottom of the EDC compartment.

Recently I found this channel and the reviews are excellent. Very clear approach to review the bags, great work!. I acquired a Knack Bag Medium in Olive in December and have used to travel 4 times. The expandability is excellent, I haven’t seen other bags that do this so well in this size. The quality is great, all YKK zippers, durable materials… and looks pretty good; especially if you don’t want to have a kind of backpacker look. Also the customer service was AWESOME! I had a specific situation that they helped me solve completely.

The way I use it is mainly on plane travel, when I have a sling for quick access everything (and to use it at my destination), a small rolling suitcase and the Knack Bag over it…. I try to use all the allowable carry-on. Then when I need to board, I expand the Knack Bag and put the sling into the expansion, so I only have two pieces of luggage. Worked perfectly!

Aaron, great vid!!! currently in my closet I have Tumi, Bellroy 28L, Matador 28Seg, Tom Bihn Synik 22 and Synapse 25, Evergoods CPL 24 and others. so glad you made this video. I usually pack, 3 Heimplanet cubes, flip flops; tech gear: 1 14" laptop, tech pouch, 1 iPad mini and some accessories depending on where i am traveling to. trips are typically 1-3 the most, but I do take vacation where I can be away for like 7-10 days. (I tend to utilize the hotel laundry for clothes) I think this would be a great fit. in the past year some of my IT work required me to carry 2-3 laptops so no way this pack was going to work. I no longer need to carry more than 1 laptop so this feels like a great recommendation as I will be traveling to the SF Bay are for like 5-6 months for work starting in August for just Friday-Monday. I am looking forward to trying this pack and giving you feedback on my experience. greatly appreciate the advice.

This bag seems great! How would this compare to the Knackpack large series 2? Would the difference be very noticeable/worth the money? Would the large’s size impede edc?

Great review. Do you know whether the series 2 has had an update since you made this video? On their website It looks like the pack is just one material now, rather than the leather effect at the bottom.

Awesome review. Just stumbled across your channel and really enjoying it. I purchased the Series 2 about a month ago and I would give the bag a 9 out of 10. It's almost perfect but it needs some small tweaks to be perfect. Overall shape, size, design is outstanding and probably the best travel bag I've used. I think the 35 liters is perfect and not too big and not too small. The tweaks I think it needs to get 10 stars.... 1) Water Bottle pocket needs a little more depth at the top, it seems as though the bottom is wider than the top. 2) As you pointed out in your video, the hardware on the shoulder straps goes back and forth from plastic to metal. Should be all metal on the straps. 3) All the zippers have lockable zippers except for the Computer compartment. I think this is a huge miss. Need to make the computer pocket lockable. Duhhh! 4) Very small issue, but to get to the shoulder straps, you need to unzipper the compartment and pull out the straps. When you do this, the top of the zippered area where the straps are located has the White Internal fabric from inside the bag. When you're wearing the bag, this flap flips up, and you can see the white fabric against all the other black external fabric of the bag. This is a miss in my opinion as you mess up the asthetics of the bag. When the straps are out and you're wearing the bag on your shoulders, you should only see the black external materials of the bag, not the white internal fabric. This takes it from looking like a high priced / high end bag down a notch or two. These are all easy fixes in my opinion. I hope they do a mid-year update (Just like they did with Version 1) and fix these issues. Keep up the great work.

Watched this in addition to a bunch of others and got the Series 2, thanks for the info. It's great in many ways. My few dislikes are the organization in the front area is divided a little too small. Also, I'd love a pocket or two of small easy access compartments. And finally, the water bottle space should either expand outward or split the difference so you don't lose internal space if you carry the water bottle.
I may return it and get the Series 1, but I think if the two series had a baby, it'd be perfect, lol.

I currently own the Series 1 medium Knack Pack. With everything having a spot, it’s become my everyday carry. I originally purchased it for air travel, as I like to have at least one set of clothes with me in my carry on, along with the absolute toiletries I need, without taking away from the EDC space, where I would keep my “stuff” (headphones, ipad, snacks, water bottle). The luggage section was perfect, and with minimal clothes, I’ve managed without having to expand it. It fits under the seat in front of me. And now that I’ve learned how to use it, I use it for my short trips, and have officially become a One Bag person. I watched this video as I like the design of the Series 2 much better and was considering if I REALLY needed it.

Good review. I like the series 2 knack pack. I had the series 1 version 1, and liked the features and design, yet returned it due to a lack of luggage pass through (added on the version 2 of the pack), which is nice to have for longer trips when I would also bring my overhead suitcase. The medium size is good for most, yet I will seriously consider ordering another when they introduce a large variant of the series 2.
