How Do I Create an Effective Lead Nurturing Campaign? Strategy and Execution Tips

There’s a journey that your customers embark on from being cold traffic to becoming a lead, and eventually, a paid customer. But this video is not about that. This video is about how do you build an effective lead nurturing campaign strategy for your business.

Years back, when I started my business, I used to manually write and send emails to people at every stage of the funnel. I'd put reminders to follow up, work non-stop to close that deals, and onboard the customers. Today, I don’t have to do it all. This entire process is fully optimized and fully automated.

People spend a lot of money driving traffic, they generate leads, but the problem is, the leads aren’t going past the awareness stage. They fall out before they even get to the consideration. Why? Because there is nothing set to automate the nurture.

I came up with this lead nurturing plan, a template for the process that you can use to create the best in class lead nurturing strategy for your business.

Below are the steps.

►Establish lead nurturing goals – define what exactly you want to happen and what are the next steps for your leads to take.
►Lead scoring - determine who are the quality leads of all the people that are going to fill out the form.
►Segment contacts – most likely, you will have different types of personas, and you want to divide your leads accordingly.
►Create personas – having your contacts segmented will help you create better, more personalized content for each persona.
►Personalized content – a CEO thinks differently than the marketing manager or VP of Sales. Each of them will have different challenges and pay attention to a different type of content.
►Develop campaigns – this is a very important yet complicated step. The more complex the tools that you use, the longer it takes to implement a lead nurturing campaign.
►Measure results – no matter what you do, at the end of the day, you need to know whether you are getting the results that you want.
►Test and optimize – if your campaign is not showing the results when you are measuring it, you need to work on improving it.
