GMC Hummer EV Full Review: 1000 BHP and CRAB WALK

The new GMC Hummer EV is not subtle. The $110k Edition 1 model we borrowed for an epic roadtrip in America had three motors – two at the back, one at the front – producing 1,000bhp and 1,200lb ft of torque. It could do 0–62mph in 3.0secs, which is basically as quick as a Ferrari 296 GTB. And that’s not the scary bit. It has a claimed range of 329 miles, which is pretty good, but only because it has a huge 205kWh battery – that’s the same as six Honda es, and it weighs... wait for it... about 4,100kg, equivalent to nine Caterham 170Rs....

So, this, or a Tesla Cybertruck?

What a beautifully put together video. This truck does not get enough credit for its engineering and design nor does *gm.* Absolutely amazing how they brought this thing to production nearly unchanged from the concept. That’s unheard of, and they covered everything. The attention to detail makes it worth every penny imo. These E1s will be highly valuable as time goes on as the very first fully electric Hummers.

Dropping the rear window is amazing! I used to be a tree surgeon and you sometimes end up with weird shaped roots and branches that could press and potentially break the glass. Also with really long items that would hang to far over in loading bay, or stick out to high resting on the roof, you can push it through the back window into the truck. Practical

I'm glad they at least touched on the environmental part, and that's not even including the fact that you're just passing the buck to the power plants and grid and pretending that you aren't producing pollution by driving a 9000 pound EV
