Hisoka and Chrollo
- two of the most popular characters in the series.
Their connection is deeper than the other characters. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the fandom who don't want either of them to die. The Troupe members had been in search of Hisoka since he killed Shalnark and Kortopi. And we finally get to see Hisoka again in the most recent release; chapter 392.
But is it really Hisoka??
Some fans actually think that it might be Chrollo in disguise!

Hisoka told Machi after he revived that he decided to no longer allow his opponents to choose when and where they fight. Hisoka also told Machi that from then on he would be using those tactics against the spider, meaning the whole group. This could definitely explain the change in Hisoka's character. I personally believe Hisoka is working together with Illumi and Kaluto. To take down the troupe. And that is why Hisoka noticed Kaluto on greed Island.

also, the chapters that shows the Troupe formation, reveals how good actor and voice actor Chrollo is. For him to turn into someone and acting like someone else, is the most ease thing to do. Hisoka stay playing as a member of the Troupe for some years, Chrollo knows Hisoka enough to know how to act like him.

The part about chrollo having to imitate hisoka, You need to understand is that in the flashback we actually see chrollo taking of different roles during the theater play and everyone was so awed by his voice and facial performance. So to imitate hisoka, chrollo doesn't need anything but a simple disguise.

I like this theory as it also allows for the Illumi is Hisoka theory and it would be super fun if both of them are in disguise at the same time.

But for me I think he is Hisoka. Yes he seems out of character maybe because he's being serious now about killing all the troupe, no more clowning around?? BTW in chapter 60 there's a panel where Hisoka (showing only his back talking to Gon on the phone) he's wearing a tracksuit with something like ribbons/bandages wrapped around not his usual clothes. Not answering the "Are you Hisoka?" Remember his duel with Gotoh who asked him "Who are you?" He replied "A magician who wishes to stay anonymous." I also think The Thing movie is referring to the Guardian Spirit Beast maybe? idk lol. In past chapters there's a lot of Hisoka's speech that doesn't have a symbol esp. when he's asking questions. When Zakuro told him to come with them he smirked. Hisoka's signature smirk! When he's talking to Hinrigh who offered him a card when he's about to grab it he suddenly retracted his hand back maybe it's for the reader to guess if Hisoka accepted the offer or not?

MY QUESTIONS ARE...
If he is Chrollo WHY would he asked Hinrigh "Who do u think will win me or the troupe?" Isn't it weird? Didn't Hisoka asked Machi same question if who will survive him or chrollo, right?
If he is Chrollo WHY disguised as Hisoka? So that he can get an easy access to tier 1? The moment Hinrigh showed him the card he had no reaction at all. How did he even know that he can get a vvip if he pretends to be Hisoka? If he really wanted to disguised as Hisoka WHY dressed like that? WHY not dressed like what Hisoka really looks with face paint, u know? If Chrollo really wants to go to tier 1 why not disguised as someone else or as a guard WHY it had to be Hisoka???

I cab also see this being Illumi, cause from what l can remember Illumi has a similar type of tone to Chrollo while talking, plus Illumi could've used his shapeshifting abillity .

You forgot his hair, hisoka uses his bungee gum to style his hair and we've only seen his hair down when he was taking a shower or bathing in the forest (after which he immedietly put it back up so it's obvious he uses his nen to keep his hair up) this is the only time we've seen hisoka with his hair down other than when he was taken a shower, and if that's chrollo obviously he doesn't have hisoka's ability so he can't style his hair with his nen and going out of his way to use gel just seems unecessary since he already looks like hisoka he doesn't need a full cosplay. And the fact that he's out in the open that contradicts what he told machi he would do, if he meets feitan's squad he's instantly dead, but hisoka said he's not going to give the troupe the advantage anymore and he's gonna be very careful and stealthy, this is definitely chrollo

What if Chrollo created a clone of Hisoka. Ever since we saw that back story of the phantom troop, Chrollo might be playing the mafia until the real hisoka shows himself. Chrollo is an opportunist who sees the mafia as something related to the past (friends' death).

Idk, you bring up some good points but I just can't get behind the motive. How would Chrollo know this would lead to a ticket to the top floor? And Hisoka is already looking for them so any member could make a scene and that would work just as well to get Hisoka's attention. I just don't see the point 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m only going off scribbled memory, but I think the troupe or the mafia talked about the location of Hisoka, didn’t they mention the possibility of Hisoka disguising himself as someone in the 1st floor where the princes & king are??

The entire expedition arc is based off of deception, lies and a general sense of Machiavellianism, just take a look at the 4th prince’s power and the entire succession war arc. Also the reason I think Gon was omitted from this arc, his honest character doesn’t fit in the arc that emphasizes liars.

b.) Chrollo disguised as Hisoka or
c.) It is the real Hisoka right there.
